![]() You also have to take into consideration that your break booster is set off the vaccume as well so if you go with to big of a duration then you'll have to do something about the vaccume to your breaks. I was always told the same thing about the speed density thing with the cam and yes, it probably should be done with either specing the eec with the rest of the truck or putting mass air flow on but if you can handle the wierd idle and the wierd feel under 1500 RPM (due to vaccume) then you can do it. Everyone told me that it's set to be a 1500 - 6000 RPM cam but it's an idle - 5500 RPM cam that's been matched to my edlebrock intake and my bigger throttle body. The only problem with this cam is that it doesn't make enough vaccume for my eec so it has an erratic idle and it's a little jumpy untill about 1500 or so RPM's. That's a bit to tall of a lift for me, it's not a race truck I just wanted the little bit more low end. With just an intake your best bet would probably be to add 1.7 rockers, itll net you the same gain hp wise at this level compared to the alphabet cams and will not require nearly as much work. I have "stock" pistons and was told that I should be able to run up to a. Ford Racing 397-M-6250-E303 Duration: 220°/220°. I did have new springs put on and my heads along with my getting my heads and deck "true cut" so no worries about head gasket sealing right. ![]() 501 exh (I belive that to be right) and I have the speed density as well. I'm about to put 1.7 roller rockers on that changes that slightly, something like a. duration (advertised is 260 intake and 270 exh) and my lift is. I have an aftermarket cam and here are the specs 204.
